Murnong, or Yam Daisy, is a bright, resilient plant that grows close to the earth and sustains life through its nourishing roots. Traditionally significant to Wadawurrung people, it represents the importance of strong foundations and careful tending. This learning space mirrors those beginnings. Students are at the foundational stage of their learning, developing core skills, routines, and confidence. Just as Murnong draws strength from the soil to support growth above ground, students in this space build the essential knowledge and habits that will sustain their learning as they progress.
In Murnong, we foster independent, life-long learners. We extend on our students’ curiosity and knowledge of the world around them. We believe that the best outcomes are achieved when parents/carers, teachers and students work together. We provide learning experiences that cater to all types of learners. We will support our students to recognise and understand their emotions, build relationships and make connections with their community.
